CCS Conducts Global LEDS Workshops on Economic Benefits, Poverty Reduction

At the Low Emissions Development Strategies (LEDS) Global Partnership (GP) and Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) meetings in Punta Cana, Dominica the CCS LEDS team held multinational workshops on capturing economic benefits and reducing poverty through stepwise, integrative policy development, such as practices used by CCS in its LEDS Action Planning processes. Key take always include the opportunity to merge economic, energy, environmental, and equity goals through 1) broader choice of policy options, 2) better policy mechanism design, and 3) more effective decision processes that include economic and equity criteria at every stage of collaboration. Evidence supports the potential to create an upward economic spiral, and avoid a downward spiral that plagues unsustainable economies.
