Coahuila Climate Change Advisory Group Approves Economic Analysis

On December 1, the Coahuila Climate Change Advisory Group approved the microeconomic impact analysis of the Coahuila State Climate Action Plan (SCAP), as part of the Mexico Low Emissions Development (MLED) Program through US AID. The SCAP consists of 17 mitigation policy options in all sectors. Following training of local experts (Coahuila Panel of Experts) by CCS, CCS assisted the group with completion of the microeconomic impact evaluation of each of the policy options jointly following a “learning by doing format for capacity building. The complete SCAP will be officially submitted by CCS to the Secretaria de Medio Ambiente (SEMA) of Coahuila in January 2016. The Coahuila SCAP process was conducted by CCS in partnership with SEMA, the Boarder Environment Cooperation Commission, and MLED.
