In November 2011, CCS and the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet completed a nearly two-year, stakeholder-based effort to expand the state’s strategic energy action plan to include climate action. The new, more comprehensive report includes 46 specific sector-based policy recommendations proposed by the Kentucky Climate Action Plan Council (KCAPC), supported by economic and energy analysis. According to the Commonwealth, the new recommendations are consistent with the energy security framework upon which it is based and enables the state to pursue strong new goals for energy, climate change, economic development and investment.
