CCS and GEI Provide Low Carbon Development Achievements and Plans to US-China EcoPartnership Summit

On July 12, 2013 CCS and it's China Partner, the Global Environment Institute, briefed EcoPartnership Secretariats from the governments of the US and China on program achievements and plans for the coming year. To date this US-China cooperative mechanism has supported the development of a Low Carbon Development (LCD) system of planning and analysis to support China's provinces with attainment of economic growth, emissions reduction, and energy intensity reduction goals under the 12th Five Year Plan. The development of this template is nearing completion, including a pilot plan for the Chonqqing province, and will support use by other provinces and provincial cities through ongoing technical and partnership assistance. This initiative has also supported state to province exchange and agreements, such as the recent California-Guangdong MOU, as well as study tours and exchanges with state and provincial officials, and startup support for curriculum developmentt and training with the China Academy of Governance.
